What an eventful quarter for the IAEE Midwestern Chapter. However, before we focus on what happened, I'd like to take a moment to highlight how we got here, and what we're doing to prepare for the future. In December of 2016, Brent Linkin, the Chapter Vice Chair and I shared lunch and discussed the direction of the 2017. We strategized on our goals as well as setup objectives for the future. With the seeds planted and of course, with the help of the leaders before us, the IAEE Midwestern Chapter events are evolving to meet the needs of a growing industry. The future of our chapter is looking strong as we start to onboard new board members in 2018 from cities other than Chicago!

Thank you to the YPs and to all who have attended the monthly meetups/networking events. In addition to our local meetups in Chicago our members in Minneapolis held a meetup on July 27, plus the association traveled to Milwaukee to network and watch the Cubs vs. Brewers at Miller Park. Whether a Cubs or Brewers fan the feedback from the event was well received. Early in September the weather held out and 92 golfers experienced a wonderful new course for IAEE at Cantigny Golf Club. The food, golf, as well as other events have all been well organized and I am proud of the team for the efforts on the golf outing and all the events, marketing, etc. throughout the year.
Lastly, I'd like to take a moment to thank all of you reading this newsletter. By reading this you're supporting our chapter and without you all of this would not be possible. We have an action packed Annual Meeting planned on October 30th at the Brand New Marriott Marquis. Please see below for more details.

Then we'll dive into our education program, "Attracting International Attendees and Foreign Exhibitors to U.S. Conferences and Trade Shows" presented by Cherif Moujabber, President of Creative Expo's & Conferences; Borys Mejía, Trade Commissioner, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ecuador; Leana Salamah, Account Strategist and Executive Director, Chicago Office mdg; and Chris Wehking, Chief Program Officer, American Society of Anesthesiologists.
