Virtual Meeting & Exhibition Platform Demo:

Time: 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.

As we continue the path to resume some normalcy in our professional lives, virtual meetings are now the new reality.  Come join your colleagues, as EXPOCAD® VMP educates us on their platform.

Pivot, Pure, Hybrid – Three scenarios of Virtual Events

A virtual event is any event that conveys sponsor/vendor/education/poster information on-line instead of in person. At the simple scale, a PDF with links to the exhibitor’s website is a virtual event. The level of complexity of virtual events increases from there dramatically. EXPOCAD® has been doing virtual events since 2006. This is not new for us. EXPOCAD® Virtual Market Place can manage any size event and works with its own conference module or one of the organizer’s choice using multi-cloud technology.

We all are about done with the word ‘pivot’ at this point. It does describe an event that had to do a mid-course correction due to the inability to hold the live event. Michele Bennett, Senior Exhibition Manager from SPIE, will share her experience with having to make a change to maintain audience and continuity for her organizations’ events.

Is there anything new to learn about virtual events? YES!!

  • How speed to market made a difference
  • Market analysis of what an organizer can do to increase revenue and ‘booth’ traffic
  • ADA compliancy (ASL, CC, Screen Reader, High Contrast Interface, etc.)
  • User interface requirements needs vs. wants
  • Multi-cloud applications

  • What products or solutions are available to use?
  • What are some successes your organization has had so far?
  • What are some challenges?

How Increased Situational Awareness and an Improved Guest Experience can Improve your Event Security

Mark Herrera
Director of Education, International Association of Venue Managers

As exhibition and event professionals, we have the responsibility of ensuring that attendees are as safe as possible at our events. It is critical that there is a plan of action allowing for quick decision making.

This session provided an engaging, interactive experience for participants interested in event security. We covered situational awareness, understood the resources available to protect public facility assemblies, and heard from subject matter experts on critical infrastructure protection to help you understand mass casualty incidents and preparedness during an event.

This session allowed our attendees to see how educating those involved in the planning and execution of a meeting or event has an impact on event participants.

Learn to leverage guest services to mitigate safety and security risks.

  • Hear how enhancing professionalism and assisting employees in recognizing the Impact their words or actions have on the public.
  • Increase personal safety and decrease stress when encountering someone uncooperative.

How Big Is Your Pipe

Educational Program and Member Mixer - Attend and earn 1.5 CEM credits
Donald E. Stephens Convention Center

About the Program:

We know we need it, but do we know what “it” is?

We’re talking about the internet and navigating the terms you hear, but may not fully understand.

2Gig redundant?

How do personal hotspots and 3G/4G technology affect your decision?

Are you paying too much by not asking the right questions for your group?

This insightful panel will discuss the ins and outs and the latest updates in a constantly changing environment.  Whether you’re looking at an in-house meeting at a hotel for 300 people or an event at a convention center for thousands, we’ll help you understand what you need so you can budget correctly and get the best service for your event participants.

It’s crucial to know the format of the delivery and we’ll tell you why, as well as define commonly used terms and send you off with a quick reference guide to take back to the office and share.
